Invitations
OK... I invited everyone via email to join this sharpening blog. We will see how it goes....
Sharpening
Great time today guys. As you can see i started this blog back in 2010 and never did anything with it.... it fact i forgot i even started it until today....
Hand me another Brick...
Bill Ooms, Rich Fisher and I met today @ 6 am at the Longhorn for our monthly "sharpening" Bible study. We covered chapter 1 & 2 of Hand me another brick by Chuck Swindoll. We missed you Rob, Nick, Jeff & Ron...
A key question from Chapter 1...
In 25 words or less, how would you summarize your primary mission, the most important task you're trying to accomplish in your realms of leadership? We struggled with this one but mostly spoke of hopefully having a "influence" on those who look to us as leaders... and the influence would be a positive one.
Chapter 2....
2 questions stood out...
How do you tend to respond to unexpected news? With panic or peace? Or perhaps anger or agitation? Why do you think you react this way?
Examine your own realms of leadership. Are you deliberately choosing to ignore an issue or not? What is it? Why do you ignore it?
There are a total of 18 chapters in the book. 16 left after today. We decided that we would attempt to tackle 3 or 4 chapters each morning we meet. This way we will be finished by the end of the year.
Our next meeting is scheduled for August 10th (always the 2nd Friday of each month)..... but Rich will be out of town.... Is there any interest in moving it back 1 weed to the 17th? Please let me know HERE _______. check your calendars prior to committing please.
Can we all share in the leadership of the morning study?? Here are the 4 chapters for our next meeting.
Chapter 3: Bill Ooms
Chapter 4: Rob Juncal
Chapter 5: Rich Fisher (by special request for 5 fingers).
Chapter 6: Nick Gianis
I suggest each of you pick 1 or 2 key questions from the Bible Companion book and publish those questions here prior to our meeting. We then can review and ponder those questions so we can go a little deeper when we meet. Does that sound like a plan?
